Accessibility Statement
Down Home Solutions LLC wants this website to work for everyone who needs it — including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or reduced-motion settings — and we take that seriously as a housing provider, not just a website operator.
The Standard We Build To
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is a standard we hold ourselves to, not a certification we claim.
Why Accessibility Matters Here
This site is how people find and apply for housing, not just marketing. An applicant who can't read a property listing, complete our application form, or reach us to ask about a unit's accessibility features is being denied an equal opportunity to apply — the same concern the Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act address for housing more broadly. We treat digital accessibility as part of that obligation, not a separate technical checkbox.
What That Means in Practice
In practice, we aim for:
- A skip link to the main content, and a single page heading per page
- Semantic landmarks so assistive technology can navigate the page structure
- Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
- Text and background colors checked against contrast minimums
- Meaning never carried by color alone
- Reduced or removed animation when your device requests reduced motion
- Form fields with real labels, and errors described in text rather than by color alone
- No horizontal scrolling of the page at narrow widths
Known Limits
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a finished state. Parts of this site may fall short, and we would rather hear about it than assume otherwise. Some features rely on services we do not control — including our background-check partner Checkr's hosted screening flow, our payment partner Stripe's hosted checkout, and Cloudflare's bot-verification widget. Where one of those creates a barrier for you, tell us and we will either work with the provider or offer you another way to complete the step, such as a phone or paper application.
Report a Barrier
If something on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, or if you need information from us in another format, contact us and tell us what page you were on and what happened. We will respond and fix what we can.
