We started managing our own rental properties in 2020, when one of our partners saw the opportunity most landlords see: steady returns on a well-run rental. What we found instead was how many property managers treat a home as a short-term transaction — patch it, rent it, move on — and how often that catches up with the owner a few months later in the form of the same repair, the same vacancy, the same headache.

We take a different approach. We treat every home we manage with the same care we'd want for our own — striking a balance between the fixes that need to happen now and the investments that keep a property solid for years, not months. That might mean choosing a repair that costs a little more upfront because it won't need to be redone in six months, or flagging a maintenance issue before it becomes a bigger one. We're not telling owners to spend everything at once — we're finding the right balance between what needs fixing today and what protects the property long-term.
